We’re Not Bragging Or Anything, But…
Congratulations to Wilder's Junior Creative duo Chris Chalklen & David Edwards with their amazing hat trick of awards in The 48 Hour Film Project. Their short Film Noir parody 'And Not A Word Was Spoken' won Best Cinematography, Best Direction & Best Film at the Edinburgh competition and now goes on to represent the UK in the 48 Hour Film Festival final in LA later in the year, well done boys.
Wilder, of course, have form with the 48 Hour Competition having previously won Best Film in London back in 2011 with comedy short 'Sexy Tuesdays'
Winner, Best Film!
We’re delighted to say we’ve won the inaugaural AR Drone Film Competition with our film What a difference a drone makes. In October, 10 filmmakers from 10 cities around the world produced 10 movies in 10 days with the amazing AR.Drone 2.0 quadricopter. Wilder were chosen to represent London and beat off stiff competition to win best film and take the 10,000 dollar prize at the awards ceremony in Paris. Many thanks to all the Wilder team who worked on the film. The film will be released online in December.
Sexy Tuesdays wins new fans down under
Sexy Tuesdays, winner of the London 48 hour Film project, has just competed at the International 48 hour competition in Taos, New Mexico against 100 other cities. It didn't win the jury prize but did go down well with audiences as this blog from Melbourne's team LateNite Films shows. If you want to see what can be done with 48 hours of thinking, writing, acting, directing, editing and general panicking, check it out. http://vimeo.com/37949947
The London 48 hour Film Project
What a weekend! On Friday night 43 teams including ours met at the Prince Charles cinema to find out a character, a prop and a line of dialogue to include in the film. We then chose a genre out of a hat. We picked comedy. We then had 48 hours to make a film between 4 and 7 minutes long. It was terrifying, ludicrous, chaotic, exhausting, exhilirating and ultimately hugely satisfying. Our film 'Sexy Tuesdays' starring Jim North & Sarah Sutcliffe was delivered on Sunday evening with 3 minutes to spare. It went on to win Best film and the Audience award presented by film critic James King.
